I didn't think of that as a straight-forward explanation - thank you.
I know DLA gets suspended during long hospital admissions, hence my husband calling to ensure they have all the information. I was just taken aback by this Motability letter referring to my 'allowance being stopped' and returning the car and so on.
At least I shall worry less for the next 24 hours until I can speak to someone, as that does seem a pretty plausible explanation.
Lovely sunny day too!0 -
Thanks Fox - didn't know you could do that. He tends not to be as good with this stuff and he is very non-confrontational, which is never good when dealing with the DWP!
I was wondering whether they would let the hospital social worker deal with this for me on Monday? On the plus side, I am certainly surrounded by health care professionals who can vouch that my mobility needs have certainly not improved!
I just don't know how they can stop things without a reassessment? So worrying.
Your husband can write on your behalf if he does not want to telephone, as of course can you if you are fit to. PoA is a great system, much better to have it done ahead of time than wait until you think you need it, like a will really. It just means he will be treated as if he was you, and it means he can have things like PIN numbers legitimately which you are not really supposed to hand out to anyone but of course many of us do with next of kin.
No idea what they will say about the healthcare professionals, just because someone says they are on the telephone doesn't make it true. They may be willing to speak to anyone you authorise verbally or in writing or accept a fax, they may not depends on their rules.
Try not to worry this sort of thing must happen all the time, you can prove your hospital stay, they won't take action right off the bat. It could well be a computer generated letter.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
