sharesave scheme question

Hi all, I've had a sharesave letter from my company giving me the option to save for3 years and then at the end of the 3 years I have the option to either take the money, or buy shares (in which the price is set now at about 20% below the market rate)... It seems like a win/win situation because If the shares lose me money…

I know someone who had this with Barc. Option was for like 200p or so and actual market price was sub 100p
So they took the cash option at the end of the three years

Then bought the shares are market for 70p and Barc ended up going to 390 so worked out even after failing at first

If you really had no confidence in your company I guess it could be skipped even at a 20% discount. Its a free share option or bonus for the commonfolk
