No all I was pointing out was that the trade counters will refund you the purchase price of the ladder but for any compensation/installation costs you will need to deal with head office .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. If you need to phone Screwfix and you haven't got free calls to 0845 numbers on your landline package, note that http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php lists plenty of geographic rate 01 and 02 numbers and a few 0500 and 0800 freefone numbers that you can use instead.Businesses using 084, 087 or 09 numbers will soon need to display details of the inbuilt Service Charge under Ofcom's "unbundled tariffs" plans.
Businesses using 084, 087 or 09 numbers for customer service, complaints, renewals, etc, will need to swap to an 01, 02, 03 or 080 number before the Consumer Rights Directive comes into effect June 2014.0 -

Hi there,
I have the same ladder & was sent a letter through the post.
I have emailed them also - at very least would expect them to provide replacement & fitting costs.
Will let you know what response is0 -
I got a letter about the recall of the loft ladders. I fitted 2. I emailed head office: angela.lambden@screwfix.com with an invoice for the work to remove and reinstall, I think that you have to be VAT registered, so it says in me email to get a refund.
although I only received £125 for each ladder, I have to sign a disclaimer which they sent me but at least I have some refund. I did get some replacement ladders which are better quality. it only took about 7 day via email to get a reply and new ladders, theyre coming to pick up the old ones, so its not costing me to take them back, every bit helps...0
