Ebay case, Sent a £300 tablet to Portugal, Buyer says package didn't contain tablet

Ensure that the buyer keeps all the contents & packaging.
Make sure you get the Parcelforce claim in within 30days & I would contact Parcelforce direct rather than P2G, as P2G are sometimes a little hard work to get things sorted.
Providing you took adequate insurance with P2G & have the original invoice for the Tablet, you'll be covered for the cost price of the tablet.
Just a question from me:
Can you go direct to the courier company if you contracted through Parcel2Go (or any other such parcel/courier sourcing service). I thought (but may be totally mistaken:D) that if I book the service through Parcel2Go I was contracting them, and benefiting from their bulk purchasing power with courier companies. The contract to deliver my parcel is between Parcel2Go and whichever courier service I choose.....so in the event of any claim I thought I had to go through Parcel2Go and they have to raise the claim with the courier company as they are the ones with the contract with the courier.
Poor explanation of my thoughts....but am I right, or would I be able to go directly to the courier if a parcel was damaged, went missing etc.?0 -

i concur, booker dave, you obviously took a lot of effort to break down that quote. Then you write such nonchalant responses.
if you're bored and have nothing to do with your time. Find a hobby.
Responses like that are not useful to anyone. It's not even funny.0 -
Cut and paste to wherever he posts;)berbastrike wrote: »Brooker Dave you make no sense sorry
I don't understand the relevance, this can and does happen in the UK.london_tiger wrote:this is why you never deal with international customers
It has happened to me receiving a parcel from a trustworthy company, courier delivered an empty box. As long as you cover yourself there is no difference in dealing internationally as locally.
If you don't expect problems to crop up then you shouldn't be selling.
If the item was signed for and is trackable online there is no reason to believe Paypal would side with the buyer. I've never had a similar case go against me as a seller and have had 2 or 3 very similar ones..0 -

The claim is with parcel2go.
They usually try and offer lower amounts and/or credit notes.0 -

The buyer has opened a case, if it goes to ebay/paypal, they will refund the buyer and I will be left -£300 (I! will be taking the hit )
what do you mean by paypal take the hit.
Do you think somehow paypal will pay him back on your behalf with no comeback to you?
I am confused.
Sadly for yourself the truth will hurt, as the seller you are responsible for what happened, ultimately you need to refund him or legally he has the upper hand on you.
Take it as lesson learned and dont sell outside the uk again.
Please dont say you didnt insure the package when sending.0 -

I too am at a loss.
There is no more likelihood of being scammed when selling outside the UK than within.0
