I wouldnt reccomend buying any bed that you havent tried out - so Argos would be a no no.
We bought ours from Dreams. With it came a guarentee that they would exchange it within three months if we found it didnt suit - ie too hard, too soft. Six years later its still as good as new0 -
We have Nordic Pine King Bed from Argos. I do not recommend it.0

We bought a couple of single beds for the kids on seperate occasions from Argos. They were fine. I think you just need to be sure what type of matress you need.
Same issue would apply to any bed bought online elsewhere.0 -
We have an IKEA king-size and they are great if you have the room - ours is 6' wide! It takes two 3' mattresses, but is a couple of inches longer than UK standard.
Ikea bedlinen and duvets are very reasonable, I've found you have to request superking-size if you buy them elsewhere - and that's not cheap."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

I bought my silentnight bed from argos and it was great.
What I had done though is shop around the local stores found a bed i liked and then went round looking at that exact model in all teh stores. It was very comfy and argos was the cheapest so ordered it from there. I got Little miss divadees silentnight mattress from argos as well and i hadnt tried that but that is lovely and comfy when i have slept in it.
I think if you go for a decent make then you should be ok, but try a few out first.
If you do go with ikea remember all the bedding also has to come from there as well, as they are european sizes not Uk.0 -
As a bed-seller I would advise never to buy a bed (more particularly a mattress) without seeing and having a good lie down on it first. Try your most favoured sleeping position to get a feel of how well it supports you, and how comfortable you feel - remember your wanting a good nights sleep.
IKEAS funny mattress sizing is no longer a problem, if you want to buy non-Ikea replacement. A few mattress manufacturers will make your fav mat to size usually for about retail price+10%, independent bed shops should be able to help you.0 -
ikea beds are great and if you buy there mattresses and pads to go on top the mattresses can last for years and yo just replace the pad every so often
