Abbey increases savings rates

Abbey have announced today that they are increasing their savings rates, following the BOE base rate increase on May 10th to 5.50%. All new rates will come into affect from 1st June 2007.

- Branch Saver increases by up to 0.80%, top rate 5.00%.

- Flexible Saver increases by up to 0.60%, top rate 4.50%.

- Monthly Saver increases by up to 0.35%, top rate 5.70%.

- Flexible Saver for Kids up 0.30% to 5.30%.

- 50+ Saver and eSaver up 0.25%, top rate 6.05%.

- Direct ISA increases from 5.75% (for balances of £9,000+) to 6.00%. Balances from £1 - £8,999 will be increased from 5.50% to 5.75%.

- Postal Account increases by 0.25% across all tiers.

In addition to the above changes, Abbey’s other savings accounts will increase.
