I'll move this to the health and beauty board for you to see if any more ideas come up there.

Thanks for the tip about the 'party feet' things, gingernutmeg. I have a problem with the sole of my left foot that they may solve. I've been wearing trainers for 3 years now. The thought of some proper shoes with comfy soles is very appealing.

Im sure m&s do a shoe range called footglove which are supposed to be very comfy. Me i wear anything - my feet can take a bit of a bashing poor things :o

You can get weird sock type band things (not a v good description I know sorry) from M&S like a band of thick tights material which goes over the part of your foot from just above the toe and covers the ball of the foot.I think they are £3 a pack of 2, saw them today.
I like my heels although I also clomp around in a pair of earth soes. I take size 8 and I deffo don't look like a trannyLOL;)

The 'jelly' pads that you can get to go under the balls of your feet make shoes much tighter, it might be worth giving them a try. You can get them in Boots, I think they're called 'party feet' or something similar :)

Wilkinsons do similar jelly pads for about £2 per pair.

I got a pair of massive wedge peeptoe shoes from primark today and they have a little bit of elastic in the heel! What a fantastic detail for such a cheap shop!
I think the fronts of them will give me gyp, I will use body shop body butter on my feet to stop the friction;)

i love party feet, however i find they work better for me if i have them in my bag then put them on as my feet start to nip
if i wear them from the beginning of the night they dont make a big difference but if i put them on later they make me last longer
