So its bad enough that im stressing about the call from the OR as its just the unknown and waiting to see if i have a IPA etc but we got our letter yesterday teling us our initial call was 10:00 next week wednesday - now i coulnt get the time out of work to do the call ( and due to where i work i can not take calls during the working day ) so called the office today to inform needing a change of the time of the call to be told by our OR on the phone IF YOU CAN FIND TIME TO GO BANKRUPT YOU CAN FIND TIME TO TAKE A CALL - i mean how rude :-( we booked our BR a few weeks in advance and arranged leave via work, but to get a letter last night telling us next week and trying to take leave and told no what are we to do, this gives me an awful feeling shes going to be tough and horrible :-(

That doesn't sound good at all. I had to rearrange my first call and it wasn't a problem in the slightest.
How did you leave it with them? Are they going to rearrange?

The person you spoke to might not have been your specific designated person, it might have been a clerk having a bad day. Try to take a deep breath, if you can't make that time then you can't make that time. Did you manage to rearrange? If not, email them some times that you can do, trying to offer as big a choice of days and times as possible.
The first person I dealt with wasn't nice at all imo, thankfully my case was handed over to someone else after the first month and that person was lovely. So I can sympathise with how snappiness leaves you feeling, you will get through it and ultimately, the persons attitude does not affect the finances. You can get the support from here instead."Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them." Dalai Lama0 -
If that was your actual examiner, then personally I would make a compliant to their line manager.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

thats a little harsh!!! its one thing to make a quick call to re arrange an appointment another thing to have a personal conversation about finance for anything up to 1 to 2 hours during the working day.
I had to attend the O.R office last September and the appointment was made to fit in with myself and son who was attending with me with no problem at all.
As said before give as many options as you can, don't feel pressured you are working for a living and trying to deal with br, you are doing really well, take care xx0 -
No doubt the individual is fed up with bankrupts not taking there responsibilities to the OR, who is an officer of the court, seriously. You do realise if you had gone bankrupt 10 years ago it wouldn't be a 30 or 40 minutes telephone call but a trip to the OR's office that you would have had to make time for.
Have you even tried to make arrangements with your employer to be available to take the call?
BTW if you can't take calls during the day how did you manage to phone the OR this morning?
Thanks for support !!!!!!! And yes that may be the case 10 years ago but its not - its hear and its now - and im trying to work with them, i didnt decline the call, didnt miss it, simply called to arrange a more conveniant time, i actually asked for call outside of my working hours and if i had to visit i would have done the same asked for a day taht i could get time from work and Yes i have tried to make arrangements however not that i need to explain i work in a prison as a teacher so i can not just take a day off at a drop of a pin - i have to have cover in place not that easy when you are asking to disrupt a routine - and I DID NOT PHONE THE OR TODAY - my husband did who is also BR with me and he passed the message on to me and today is a admin day for me - so he asked the OR to call us either on a Thrusday or after 2 pm during week when i would be free - !!! hope that answers your questions
as for other people offering support and kind words, no she was very shirty apparently - my husband said he called office and was passed to her as the OR - she said she will do what is suited to her not us and that the only other offer would be Monday at 09:00 - which is okay as i dont work mondays :-)
im just angry at my husband being spoke to like that , we both work, him full time me part time - so i dont think im out of order asking to arrange somethign taht is around my working, its not like im at home doing norhting and cant be assed to take a call - im working -
stressful dealing with loosing a house, going bankrupt after dealing with DMP - IVA and failing that , working and looking after a baby - but thanks for support0 -
you don't have to explain, the previous poster was out of order!!
don't let this worry you, be yourself deep breath, we're all here to help......well most of us xx0 -
Not nice to be treated like that Sunshine211, it may be a one off but if it continues, I would certainly look at raising it as a complaint. Our reasons for bankruptcy are all individual but we all deserve a little bit of respect. Hope things cheer up a bit for you!0

Find out who it was your DH was speaking to, I suspect it was a clerk and not the OR. Find out who the Assistant OR is and raise a complaint. If you don't want to this time then wait and see what happens at your interview and if you still have problems I strongly suggest you put the complaint in.
