In my opinion nuclear is critical to our long term energy supplies and unfortunately we can no longer be held to ransom by private sector companies.
.
Alot smarter would have been to capture tidal power from The Severn estuary which is an asset so massive its almost unique in the world.
It gives us power available every day for free and without risk
Right when they had the excuse in our recession to spend alot of money tendering it out as a government contract they said nah, it'll mess with birds nest on the shore.
Nuclear is tons more messy and we probably have to hire the French or the Japanese to build it for us, couldnt make it up0
