No because when in a position of debt or struggling to make payments, rent is always a priority.. people need and want a roof over their head so make sure rent is covered.
if your buying beds on credit with low affordability, CREDIT should be assessed on CREDIT history.
However i have never taken out CREDIT to live in an apartment - i think im trying to say CREDIT is the key and if you have CREDIT problems then taking out more CREDIT is not an answer.
however - CREDIT problems should not effect your housing situation as it is a priority that doesnt require any CREDIT.
foolish to disagree imho
I personally and have always seen every bill that drops through my door a priority.
I'm going to disagree with you as defaults in landlords credit searching should get a full detailed report of the person in question as if you default on a credit card/loan it look like you're struggling which suggest how's he going to pay his rent.0 -
So where are these people with bad credit histories going to live? They can't get a mortgage to buy and they can't rent anywhere either as landlords won't take them if they have defaults on non-housing accounts? Are they to live in the streets?
If paying my rent counted towards my credit worthiness then I would have no problem with landlords being able to see my report, which would show not one single rent payment missed in 10 years, hopefully then they would realise the one time I missed my capital one payment by 2 days 4 years ago isn't going to be a massive problem. Currently rent is not dealt with on a credit basis so your credit worthiness should have no bearing on if you are suitable to rent. Employment references and previous landlord references are what should count. All of course IMHO.0 -
i think people here think if you have bad credit that you are a non person so don't deserve a place to live0

Nah that's too logical for England...if you missed one phone bill 5 years ago, you won't pay rent0 -

If you are so perfect, why are you on a debt forum?0 -

I think people could do without your self-satisfied smugness around here...you don't know the history of each case
In my case my defaults started when I was jobless for 3 years after graduating. Being a young asian man didn't exactly mean jobs where flying in my direction either...0 -

You should drop the attitude.
All of your posts come across as really angry, and now the race card :T
You had a go at you-kip asking why he was even on a debt forum if he was so fantastic.
He's on the credit file board, not the debt board. So if you're going to try smug at least understand the difference. So you case has nothing to do with the comment I made with regards to that.
There are some valid point he brought up, getting all mouthy won't get you the help you need for your issues. People will just ignore you.0 -

With the Politically correct workplaces that take diversity for granted around the UK I'm sure many young Englishman wouldn't agree with your statement about being Asian and jobs flying in your direction .0
