Free listing for business

Hi,
I logged into my ebay earlier today and got the message for free listing for business users from 15-19 april inclusive. I'm not a business user and only sell odd bits now and again but wondered if anyone else has had this flash up for them.

Yes, I've saved nearly £3. It's lucky they had accidentally cancelled all my listings under 30 days ago, otherwise some of those would have been up for a free relist too:mad:

From 15th and they decided to tell you this on the 17th? Typical eBay efficiency in action! I've had no such message and seem to be being charged listing fees as normal. Is it posibly because I have an eBay shop? The last free listing promotions for business sellers were for those with shops, so are they now doing one for those without, or for new shop subscriptions? I've checked my dashboard and there are no issues there preventing me from qualifying for promotions.

I think this was for selected sellers, no idea why. It's quite possibly for those of us who had listings cancelled.

I have a shop. I also have another account with no shop that didn't get the offer.

They do seem to be experimenting with free listings, so perhaps they're checking to see what happens. TBH paying 10p or zero really makes no difference to us. Listing fees are a very small percentage of our fees.

I didn't have any cancelled, but still got it, so that muddies the waters again.

In the medium to long term, I think listing fees will go from ebay altogether, as that's the only barrier to some for selling.

Yes I got it - to be honest it does not make much difference to me, I did have some items to list but I would have listed them anyway...

I got it too and had not been affected by any problems recently.

I got an email well before the starting date as well, but as said above it makes so little difference really, at 10p per listing saving you need to list 100 items to save £10. It's a nice gesture but to business sellers listing fees are a small percentage of overall fees.

I will be putting on a couple of lines that I was not going to bother with to see if they sell to take advantage but otherwise it's not really that special.
if i had known then what i know now

I didn't get the invite, but I don't think eBay like me.
