I've not had whole class parties for mine, just restricted it to a few and don't as a rule buy unless it is xmas and birthdays. We cut back at Xmas due to the large amount they receive from other people.0 -
I've done a few car boots sales and found it hard to shift toys sometimes- a kid will want something and the miserable parent pulls them away and says you dno't need that - so why take them to a car boot?? but did get rid of a few toy car last week - to old men!!
I had to stop my OH selling the wooden train set - for my grandkids (my kids aren't 10 yet!) and Iwas secretly glad the cute wooden rocking horse didn't sell. It's all the garish plastic stuff like power rangers etc that I find annoying and it's the stuff they're mad for one minute and soon tire of.
I've tried asking people not to give birthday presents, just come and play at the party, but they always do anyway.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
Yes, I absolutely agree. I've been trying to declutter but it's really hard work and time-consuming and dds can reclutter almost as quickly. It does get really demoralising and stressful and I totally identify with poster who referred to having to rebuy selotape, nail clippers etc- I must have loads of both, plus biros, blutack, scissors, in fact all stationery that gets nicked from my drawer....
Oh for a tidy house! Sadly, I know I AM the tidying fairy.....:rolleyes:0
