Advice for a product launch in store

Hi,
My girlfriend has recently launched a handmade lingerie label and it’s going really well – she’s building a good online presence and enjoying every minute of it!
In a few weeks she is getting a window spot in a small boutique in London that she loves, but having never done anything like this before she’s (understandably) quite nervous about the whole thing and wants it to be a success not just from her point of view, but also for the people that put faith in her and her product to give her the window spot.
Has anyone ever done anything similar? At the moment she’s trying to mainly advertise it online, and she’s creating some leaflets etc, but I’d be very grateful if anyone had any good suggestions on how to ensure it’s a success and (hopefully) help lots of people show up
Thank you!

Can she do a 'private view' in the boutique and invite press and selected (likely) punters - have a couple of models in the lingere handing out nibbles and drinks, regularly changing outfits. It gets the gear literally under punters noses in the best way - they'll all come away with something! Depending on the range, perhaps burlesque dancers to do the modelling? Body-confident and generally a little curvier, so suited to the handmade/custom shape market?
You'd need to black out the windows, light the place well, make an evening of it but it would make for a great launch and get some chatter going. The boutique would have to help with the promotion (contacting their existing punter lists etc), but they get all the sales and press, so should go for it.
Remember to invite me ;-)0 -
Thank you paddy! Some fantastic suggestions there, I'll let her know and see what she thinks
Some could be tricky to pull off, but the idea of having a model or two handing out nibbles/drinks is great! 0 -
Hope it goes well! It's worth spending a few quid to get it right as it'll make for some great photos for her website/facebook - busy, exclusive, successful, fun, classy etc - all the right messages and emotional associations for potential buyers to feel reassured.
Any stage lighting company can help, they will have black drapes (for the door/from street for modesty and exclusivity), lamps to make the shop look good, and all the grip to hang or hold it all. There will be such a company nearby, ask at your local theatre, they'll know.0
