Closed Virgin credit card....

Had a Virgin CC for many years, it's had zero balance for a while now and I wanted to close it, so I did so this afternoon. They said it would be closed within 7 business days.

My question is, can I apply for another CC now or wait until the 7 business days is up to ensure my Virgin account is closed, in the hope of getting a higher credit amount on the new CC?

Thanks....

If you want it to reflect on other lenders you may need to wait a month or two before it shows as "Settled" (Closed) on your credit report.

Thank you. Will keep that in mind.

It can take a couple of months for the account to show as settled on your credit file.

I paid of a loan mid February and it's still on my credit file displaying my remaining balance as at the end of January.
