What worries me about getting a dress from places like Monsoon or Coast is that someone else might be wearing the same one.

I'm to be a family-of-bride guest at a posh wedding in Edinburgh next year, and I'm getting a bit worried about that...if I were to be MoG I think I would be going either made-for-me or exclusive italian or french bought abroad ;) Then again, I can't see it happening just yet :rotfl:

You could get one off of Amazon, or a similar site.

-Moonar, Black Butterfly, and My Evening Dress are my personal favourites, Black Butterfly in particular is good quality with a very nice selection at a very nice price.
    .

My mum has bought a Black Butterfly dress (from their ebay shop) for my wedding and she looks fab in it. I can't remember which exact one she bought but it was silver/grey and halter neck.

My daughter is getting married in September, I've been trawling ebay, I decided on a make i trust, in my case Country Casuals; searched auctions only, and checked new listed stuff everyday until i found a dress i liked, they tend to go pretty cheap, i paid £13 delivered for a grey and pink silk mix summer dress. i then repeated strategy for dark grey jacket, satin shoes and handbag, so far the outfit has cost £30 .......... i'm now onto the fascinator, then i'm done. After the wedding hopefully i can sell it as an outfit and maybe even make a profit :P

My top tip is to give yourself enough time, it's a slow job waiting for the right things to come up for auction,

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

My daughter got married Saturday and my dress and jacket cost £70 from Roman Originals, my hat from Labels £30 and shoes and bag from Bhs with 20% off in the sale. I had so many compliments and was glad I didn't spend over £1000 on the condici outfit I tried on. It was lovely but I just didn't feel comfortable or me in it. I would have quite happily paid the money but it would have to be perfect in every way to justify spending that sort of money.

My mum wore a pink silk dress and matching jacket she bought off ebay something italian sounding might have been condici as mentioned above lol I think it was £69.99. She took an inch or two off the length so it hit her knee as she is short. It was from a business seller i will see if she still knows which one it was. In the evening she switched to a more lightweight chiffon jacket/bolero but longer type thing for primark £8! what have i pressed to get italic font????

Currently trawling the net for ideas for mum's outfit - she prefers high necks and longer sleeves to stop her decolette and elbows showing. I stopped a lady in the street last week to ask her where she got her top from! (M&S)

For my sister's wedding, I found mum some white trousers, and a red/orange/white very slightly floaty top from different stores, then a red hat from John Lewis (about £30), red shoes & bag from Brantano were pretty cheap. For another event I had a long dress from Ann Harvey, and a jacket that matched beautifully from M&S. Both my mum and aunt are 60+, and tend to go for trousers & classical style tops, teamed with matching hats/shoes/bags - they both look very swish :)
