About the Competition

This year, The Clothes Show wants to discover a fresh new textile print design talent - and we want you to take part. If you think you can design a show-stopping print that'll turn our plain tunic dress from drab to fab, prove it to us. Just print off the competition entry form, embellish the plain dress and swatch with your pattern design and post it off to us. Simple!

The winner of the The Clothes Show Design-a-Print competition will pick up a £1,000 cash prize courtesy of The Clothes Show Live. Plus, they'll get to see their print adorning a real-life version of the tunic dress in one of Marks & Spencer's new collections! It's a fantastic opportunity to express your creative flair, so don't miss your chance to enter.

The Brief:
Taking your inspiration from the world around you, create a fresh, new print that complements the shape and style of our tunic dress. Whether you go for a pattern that's striking or subtle, organic or geometric, contemporary or traditional, make sure it's an original design and that it's suitable for a British high street market. You may add design notes to your illustration to explain how the pattern should appear on the dress, or any other information you think it's important for us to know.

The tunic dress will be made from Capris 100% polyester satin - this is a fine, smooth and slightly shiny fabric. You can choose any colour you like to form the base colour of your pattern. You may use any of the following mediums to illustrate your design: paint, pastel, pencil or felt tip pen. Draw your design onto the illustration of the dress on the entry form and highlight a more detailed section of it in the swatch illustration.

Read all the competition terms & conditions thoroughly before entering.
