Sorry if this is posted in the wrong area, I have currently switched my bank to halifax and am curious as to whether my debit card is offline or online. The first 4 digits are 4844. Thanks in advance.

Isn't that a Visa electron card? I'm guessing you have an Easycash account.
So the answer to that will be its an online card only!!!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

Online means it has to seek authorisation for every transaction that you make, meaning 9 times out of 10 it can't be used on Trains, Planes And Boats and some pay@pump petrol stations as these don't always have an online connection to check for available funds and will be declined.
If you have an offline card it can be used in the places that don't have an online connection i.e. Trains, Planes And Boats and some pay@pump petrol stations.
As to if you know if you have an offline or online card that depends on the bank account you have and whom you bank with.
If you have a basic account then 9 times out of 10 it will most certainly be an online only card.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
