i have been on IB for ten years, on monday i had my dreaded medical, the nurse was nice and explained that she could give me 15 points but i would be disapointed as the decision maker would put me in the work group, she told me to appeal and that i should win, not sure i should believe her but she said to come on this website for good advice, what i would like to know is what do i do once my decision letter arrives, do i first ask for a reconsideration and then an appeal, im not at all clued up on this so would be grateful for any help, thanks

Ring the number on the decision letter. They will start the reconsideration. You may need to write in to support this.0

The first thing to do - a couple of days after the medical - is to phone them and ask for a copy of the medical report.
Then find out if there are any factual inaccuracies or omissions.
If there are, detail these in writing - and get them back - ideally before the decision is made.0 -
If you appeal another Decision Maker will carry out a reconsideration anyway, so you might as well appeal stright away as this might save a bit of time.0
