I've a 12% regular saver with A& L and I don't have any insurance with them. In fact, never heard of it.0

If you want A&L's 12% regular saver account, you have to open a Premier current account and fund it with £500 per month.
The Premier current account includes "free European annual multi-trip travel insurance currently worth up to £60". If you don't want it, just ignore it.

I think the OP is referring to the fact that if you already have a current account A&L you have to take out a Save & Protect insurance out to open the 12% account.

As an existing Alliance & Leicester Premier customer, you can get the best of both worlds with Save & Protect*. Earn a massive 12% gross p.a./AER fixed for 12 months on your savings with Alliance & Leicester when you take out protection from Legal & General to help protect your family’s future.0 -
Close your premier current account, wait 3 months and re-apply......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

hhhmm its a shame its a nice account0

its got nothing to do with any insurance.
only drawback as said its that the premier account needs to be funded with £500 each month and is for new customers onlySave saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0
