Auction not finished but prospective buyer wants it straight away.

I have listed a A level text book with the auction finishing in 7 days time. A prospective buyer wants it straight away. Can I end the auction (there are no bids) and arrange for the buyer to pay me without listing it as BIN? First, is it allowed? Secondly, can I just ask the buyer to pay by paypal? As there will be no invoice to send, how do they pay me (on a previous thread someone had mentioned gifting). Please can anyone advise me what is the best way to go about this? It is not a large amount (£7 + £3pp). but I don't want to break any rules.

Ebay do not like off site sales, but if buyer wants it that urgently just get their email address (which is near impossible now) and send them a paypal invoice. Do not expect them to gift it as it makes you look dodgy, a straight invoice for named goods will be better.

Alternatively, if you have it listed for £7 already, get buyer to bid and then close auction early to send to the highest bidder.

Thanks Soolin, I will get the buyer's address and send invoice. Would this be the create invoice under request money tab? And I assume that paypal would charge me the normal 3.4% +20p and nothing extra?

Paypal fees will be the same- the difficulty will be getting an email address, or sending your own to have payment sent- the new email address block is almost impossible to get round

If you want it to be legit through ebay - you change the starting price to the agreed price - get the buyer to bid - and end early (choosing the sell to highest bidder option).

Ebay now try and block emails and phone numbers in messages.
