I can't see any valves to isolate the boiler

You don't have to. If its a question of proving one way or the other whether the boiler itself is leaky then its down to the guys that are/will be contracted to do it ie the installer in this case. If there are no valves and they need to make alternative provision for isolating the boiler then so be it. I'm starting to think you might be being fobbed off!

I will get them back - lock him in and not release him, until he has diagnosed it properly - preferably his boss
  • Look under the boiler on the 22mm flow and return pipes. There will either be levers or a slot to isolate the valves. Dunno why these so called heating guys are messing about. This is really basic stuff for a gas man. Tell them to send someone competent.

OP: is the CH pipework surface mounted or buried in the floor/walls? Any recent works in your home eg. flooring, shelf hanging etc?

Photo of bottom of boiler to ID isolation valves?

At the risk of having numerous plumbers throwing spanners at me...
I saw this stuff on QVC the other day called CT1 Miracle Seal. It looks great. You pour the stuff in the system and it finds and seals the leak molecularly without bunging up or damging the system (allegedly). Its worth considering uf you cant find the leak in your pipes.

Same stuff as car radiator sealant - would you break an egg into your system ?
