We are selling up for the first time other than tarting the place up and finding an estate agent is there anything else we need to do?

Same for us too. We've pretty much done the same and in 2 weeks we've had quite a few viewings already. Just takes a little effort to keep it clean and tidy for every viewing!

thanks for the replies, when we do start the selling the house will be empty as we are moving into a council property.
At the moment we are trying to decorate the new and the old property as fast as we can !
Is it worth having the boiler serviced would it make a difference ?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Mentioning the boiler just reminded me - it's one of the bits of paperwork I've got sitting ready for my buyer (ie record of boiler services).
I've got a box file full of the relevant "bits of paper" to do with this house all good to go when required and understand that helps the process along noticeably (so guarantees for electrical work/doubleglazing/radon test result I got years back because of the area I live in/deeds in case of historical interest considerations/etc).
So I suggest you get that file together on your house.0 -

Yes to boiler service. That's something we do anyway but when buying will be important to me also.Have a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0
