Good Morning All,
I am finding it hard to keep on top of my gas bill which is £149 for 256 units a month, my wife and I live in 2 bedroom house 9 rads 8 thermostatically controlled all rads are balanced 2 rooms kept at 21c the others are kept at 19c, with cavity wall insulation and a cd 32c combo boiler, and gas hob which is new, loft insulation, all doors and windows are double glazed, and no drafts coming in...
Is this reasonable to expect with what I have, or do you think I am paying to much..
All the best and thanks from Alan

The usage of 95 kWh per day for rooms kept to that comfortable standard does not seem high. Is that for full evenings and a morning use?
£149 is a touch expensive but only by a tenner or so - you may be able to find a cheaper tariff.0 -
Welcome to the forum. I don't see the point of keeping rooms that are only used sparingly (or in the case of bedrooms for sleeping in under a duvet) at 19c. But maybe that's just me.0

With that amount of useage I can only assume someone is in all day and you have a requirement for it to be 21 degrees all the time?
If not reduce how often it is used0 -

Yes we are both retired and at home all day, and at our age we do feel the cold, the heating is on from 7am to 11pm with a gap of 3.5hours in the middle of the day

That will be why. 21 degrees is high, a 1 degree drop will save some money.
Also consider turning it off earlier, especially if you go to bed close to 11pm. Start with 10pm and see how warm you are before going to bed. If you are OK reduce to 9pm and see how it goes.0
