As a word of advice please check the reviews for lastminute.com before purchasing.
I was about to purchase singing in the rain yesterday before checking reviews on the tripadvisor forum from previous users - http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/ShowTopic-g186338-i17-k4538043-Theatre_tickets_on_lastMinute_com-London_England.html
In the end I have decided to use TKTS on the day instead. If it works the same as the New York one you will have a choice of seats from what is left on the day and will be sure you are happy with it before parting with your money. It might be a few pounds more but it is less lucky dip.
On the face of it lastminute appears better value because they claim if you book today they set your seat aside today and you get the best of what is available today at your price point. However from the reviews this doesnt seem to be the case with a lot of people being unable to enjoy the shows from their seats which for the cheaper price levels were the very worst available.
The exception being when you are buying the top seats for each showing with lastminute which people do seem to be happy with because I guess at those price levels there is no such thing as a bad seat.0 -
Yes agree with advice to use TKTS - run by Society of London Theatres and absolutely honest. You are told exactly where the seats are and can ask any other questions personally at the kiosk. However I've also had good deals from seetickets.com and lovetheatre.com when they do deals eg no booking fee, or inclusive of a meal. Register with them for regular emails telling you what's available and have fun!0
