Hi, I am looking for help for a tenant that lives in social housing. The tenants landlords have their own contractors to do gas safety checks every year in a block of flats. Some of the flats have been sold on long leases and have been sublet to other tenants. Do the tenants of the long leaseholders have to get their gas boilers checked every year just like the the LA tenants have to get done. Also do the long leaseholder have to produced their gas safety certificates to the LA yearly.:T:T

Gas Safety Certificates are always the responsibility of the landlord not the tenant.
If by long leaseholders you mean "owners" on a 999 year lease for example, then they don't need to arrange GSCs.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Yup - the landlord must do the certificate (so they employ contractors for this).

Likewise - the landlords who own long leases must do the certificate

No.
just like the the LA tenants have to get done.
Errrr... No. The LA tenants do NOT have to get done. The LA (I assume you mean Local Authority) have to 'get done'.
Also do the long leaseholder have to produced their gas safety certificates to the LA yearly.:T:T0
