Our house is filled with gadgets but I think the high consumption is due to the fact the washing machine, dishwasher and oven seem to be constantly on. Also two en-suite bathrooms with electric showers plus the lighting as mentioned above doesn't help.
We were able to get free cavity wall insulation but my mum objected to having holes in the walls outside all over the house. I think reducing our electricity consumption would require major changes in our lifestyles.
They're supposed to fill the holes in again after injecting the insulation...how did she think they were otherwise going to install it?No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Yes I know that but they look unsightly and we weren't aware that so many holes would be required.0

I genuinely can't see any of the holes created when we had cavity wall insulation so I'm surprised at that. Look, if you want to save money on your consumption (which I'm afraid is nothing short of ludicrous) then you are going to have to accept changes to your lifestyle. If you aren't prepared to do that, you will just have to continue overpaying for your fuel. It really is that simple.0

Once they're filled in (and any paintwork on rendering touched up) they should not even be visible. If done onto bare brick then they drill in through the mortar beds and fill those.
Your electricity consumption is more than 3 times the average and that is not explained by a 5 bedroom house alone. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
