Difference between Cavendish and Fidelity

I don't quite follow that - don't you still get presented with the same 'Lite' interface whichever way you log-on? Or are you saying that you have accounts with both Fidelity directly and also through Cavendish? The main feature missing is the ability to see the original cost of fund purchases and the accumulated profit amount and %age gain.
You have to record your individual purchases costs somewhere else (Google or Excel) and then calculate your losses / gains manually.
Wasn't aware it was lite but I haven't looked for that functionality.
I have viewd Xray etc.and you can see th original, transaction price detail by using the tab on holding and transactions.
I maintain my own records and also have the portfolio plugged into portfolio view on trustnet which gives performance and analysis detail. It also updates in advance of Fidelity late PM rather than next day."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Yes, you do still get the X-Ray tool but within holdings you just get a consolidated current valuation; if you want to see what price you paid then you have to look up each individual purchase you have made in the fund.
Adding up the transactions is not, in itself, too onerous but when Fidelity updates its platform (as it has done twice in the last 12 months) all of that history is wiped out so although I have invested with them regularly for over 4 years I can only see transactions since their last 'improvement' which was in October 12 if I remember correctly.Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0 -

Does that include the 7 year account history for electronic documentation?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Do you need to be mobile or viewing via a mobile application?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

Thanks for that - I have never used the mobile site before but you are right I can see an overall profit for all my accounts. :T
Now all I need to work on is finding out how to see that overall profit broken down by individual funds!Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0 -

I haven't checked but I presume that the electronic docs library must be maintained somehow. However, that library doesn't include any monthly DD transactions - only switches, valuations, sales etc so it doesn't help to build an accurate purchase record.Old dog but always delighted to learn new tricks!0 -
According to this - http://rplan.co.uk/compare , Cavendish is £3.5 grand cheaper. I would go for Fidelity's short-term bait myself to be frank
Hope this helps,
