I recently posted about my involvment in an accident. Now this thursday I will be recieving a courtesy car from repair shop.

Can you please tell me the checklist or the things i should check on the car before accepting it please?

Last time my dad had a courtesy car with driveassist they tried to charge extra but finally backed down at the end we didn't know we had to check but this time we will check it before signing anything....

also they have told us we need to give debit/credit card detail whilst signing the agreement is this normal? which card detail is best to give? debit/credit which will protect me more if any dispute arises?

so far i have made these list

1) Note down the mileage of the car at the time of delivery and take a picture
2) take a picture of the fuel tank
3) check the car for scratches and make note on agreement if any?

can anyone think of anything else please? I probably won't be driving the courtesy car unless its an emergency so any help is appreciated!

Tyre condition, tread depth, scratches to wheel hub covers/alloy wheels (if it has alloys, check that the locking nut is in the vehicle).

Also check the interior of the vehicle & check that the spare wheel is present.

If there is any damage, take photos and make sure it's referenced on the paperwork.

Obviously don't rush to sign the paperwork - these documents can have a LOT of terms and conditions and it's important you read and understand it all before agreeing.

Check oil, water and all fluid levels, look for any leaks from same.
Check all windows (electric) work as required.
    check car is taxed,MOTd.
Check tyres are road legal, and spare, wheelbrace and jack included.
Check all switches and audio equipment work.
Check for any damage, scrapes and make sure to agree with person delivering car on the damage and get a signature to say so.
Make sure your insurance covers you to drive the car.

Do all of the above. Also check the areas which are most prone to damage, ie wing mirrors, all 4 corners of the car bumpers and the wheels if they are alloys. Any damage then take a pic.

Fuel is the worst things with these as will no doubt have next none in it.

I'd go for a credit car to the security as atleast you have a bit more protection if they try to charge you for anything.

I think it's called full cost waiver or collision waiver
