Thanks to all the replies! :) I've put some vaseline on it (I currently look like a right grease monkey!) and I had some on overnight also. Its certainly not sore or making my eye water anymore :)! I'm going to try and keep it make-up free for a few days before spending cash on expensive moisturisers :) Thanks again all!

I get chapped skin regrettably often when i neglect my skin routine. (Often near the eye too, as my eyes water a lot) It was with despair a couple of weeks ago I was out of vitamin e oil, which is wonderfully restorative. I tend to use that, then protect the skin over it as required.

hope your feeling a bit better op, in case you were still struggling with the sore skin, don't worry about fixing or repairing it yourself- your body will do that. The best thing you can do is keep the area clean and clear of make-up and salt and sweat, then try to protect it from the elements (sun, wind, rain etc) so it can repair in its own time. Your skin is likely to do most of the hard work at night while you sleep (sleep is very important for repair of your cells) and things like vitamin D (from the sun) vitamin E (from things like nut oils and margarine) will also help aid recovery of your skin but the best thing you can do is to keep your fluids up by drinking enough water. Water is essential for healthy skin.
