I am still bankrupt now, few months left now. In fact I have never personally spoken to the OR just the clerk.

They didn't ask to see my statements at all.

Think they only do that when your Income and expenditure forms look a bit unrealistic.

To see bank statements is common place they just have a quick look to see if anything jumps out at them.
Not a good idea about the rent as they usually ask to see the agreement which will show how much you pay.

Another way to hide some cash on this form is to put your rent up and to cover your tail is pay it to a family member i.e Rent £540-550 Put rent up to £600-630 pay that family member and then they pay your rent.

This is my experience and by know means does this make this the right thing to do, but if your struggling then this may take the edge off things. Desperate times = desperate measures.

What you are suggesting is ilegal and will get you in trouble. The OR will usually want to see rental agreements especially if you are claiming more than the average for the area. I suggest you remove this portion of your post.

Oh! and just because they didn't ask you for them doesn't mean they didn't go straight to your bank for them. We've known several OR's of posters on the board have done this and not asked them for the statements.

Just ask Mr Johnson who was jailed for 4 months for lying to the OR!

Yes, I remember that case as it's from where I used to live and we were watching it.

I don't think the other poster was suggesting op does this, but was giving an example of how the OR could use the statements.
