    Tinks,

you say you have paid £180 for 3 months, is that baliff debt now clear or is it another 3 months at £180? so total debt was approx £1080.00, and now £540?

Tinks, please excuse my ignorance here, but don't the Dss offer loans at no interest or very little interest, I am asking for two reasons really, Firstly I have a sister in a very similar situation and I am trying to help her gather info, and second reason is I don't like people to be ripped by off by paying huge APR when they are quite clearly in a desperate situation, I don't know your personal circumstances but I am trying to understand where one would go other than to a company quite clearly fleecing you, I do appreciate that will have limited options available to you, and I know from my sister when her washing machine broke down she got a £250 loan from a 'doorstop lender' and ending up paying £425 back, or rather my parents did as she couldn't meet the payments and they were getting stroppy with her, truly I am trying to understand and gather knowledge and I am certainly not judging you in anyway.

I am looking at your SOA in detail cause it is obvious you need urgent help, if could answer the question about the baliffs debt, I will try to come up with some suggestion, but take the other posters advice and try the website what am I entitled to, and make the appointment with the CAB, they have a wealth of knowledge and I do hope that the CCCS can come up with a repayment plan for you.

    Hi

yes, it was £1080. Paid 3x 180 Jan-March. Missed april payment, so it's £540 at the mo.

I don't think the dss will give me another loan (had in the past and am sure i still owe them something). I've tried before they looked at my income & said it's too high for them to offer anything.
As for the doorstep lenders, i know, they are terrible. Mine's due round this aft and am not sure what i'm gonna say/do.

I done the entitlement thing & works out £12ish in housing benefit. I've checked out re the school meals & i'm not entitled to that either-had a letter from school this week saying that my free school meals have run out & will have to pay back what's owed. I know that i owe at least 6mths worth but waiting for them to tell me what they think

    Tinks,

I have to go out now, so just a quick post, but call the CAB immediately and get some help and advice, can you offer the doorstop lender a £1 or £5 just to bide some time. I am sending you a hug :grouphug: to let you know that I am thinking of you.
