    Hi,

Does your income include Child Benefit? How Many children do you have, are you on your own, if so are you receiving a discount for council Tax.

Are you paying internet fees? Do you have a mobile?

Go over the OS board and try to get your food shopping down a wee bit, its not easy but you may be able to save a wee bit.

Call CCCS today and they will advise.

OMG I canny believe the interest you are paying on a £500 loan, these people/companies want blasting off the planet.

Thanks. Have to add them, mobile - £35, ISP - £18, Child Benefit £70 4wkly.
I'm single with 1 DD. Yes am getting discount on council tax.

    Hi Tinks,

My child allowance for the eldest child is £18.10 p/w.

I really don't have much advice to offer you as I am not experienced enough on this board, but their are some fantastic posters on the DFW board and I just added the above in order to bump up your post to see if anyone else can offer advice.

I really do hope someone can help, it seems to be quite a desperate situation, you really need to contact the CAB and get some advise on the council tax arrears, and the other debts.

When are CCCS going to contact you again, keep us informed.

Just spoke to CCCS again and have been advised that i should pay off the Bailffs for the next 3 months at their agreed rate of £180.82 & pay £1 to everyone else until that's paid off.

I'm so grateful for everyone's help/suggestions so far so thanks to all.

    Tinks,

I am pleased the CCCS have called you, you need to phone your other creditors and tell them you are going to be paying £1 as a token payment, its not going to be easy, but persevere. Can you manage to pay off the £180.82for three months without getting further into debt?

Are the CCCS going to help you any further?

I have just looked up pinewood finance on the website, very basic website and of course no mention of APR's etc.

I would still contact the CAB a.s.a.p and make an appointment to see if they can offer you some other informative help regarding the other debts and your entitlements.

Is your mobile phone still in contract?

I'll arrange an appointment with CAB also to see what help they can offer.

Only just changed my mobile contract as I was spending more than £35pcm on old one anyway.

Had paid the £180 for 3 months, don't know how I how I managed it really. I went without paying anything except some of rent for a week each month.

    Hi Tinks

Have just put what details I know from your SOA into https://www.entitledto.co.uk (had to guess a few bits obviously!) and according to that you should def receive more tax credits (much more if I got it right), council tax benefit, housing benefit. Also poss free milk/vitamins, school meals and other bits and pieces.

Try putting your details in. It will help you know what questions to ask at CAB etc - don't worry they only want the figures, not any personal details. Sorry would do a link if I could but sadly a technophobe!!

    Cathy

EDIT wow, it did the link by itself!!!!
  • depends if she has been overpaid at some point. i know when my other half lost his job i rang the tax creedits and they REDUCED what i was having by £5.

congrats on wanting to sort things out and ringing cccs.

    Tinks,

you say you have paid £180 for 3 months, is that baliff debt now clear or is it another 3 months at £180? so total debt was approx £1080.00, and now £540?

Tinks, please excuse my ignorance here, but don't the Dss offer loans at no interest or very little interest, I am asking for two reasons really, Firstly I have a sister in a very similar situation and I am trying to help her gather info, and second reason is I don't like people to be ripped by off by paying huge APR when they are quite clearly in a desperate situation, I don't know your personal circumstances but I am trying to understand where one would go other than to a company quite clearly fleecing you, I do appreciate that will have limited options available to you, and I know from my sister when her washing machine broke down she got a £250 loan from a 'doorstop lender' and ending up paying £425 back, or rather my parents did as she couldn't meet the payments and they were getting stroppy with her, truly I am trying to understand and gather knowledge and I am certainly not judging you in anyway.

I am looking at your SOA in detail cause it is obvious you need urgent help, if could answer the question about the baliffs debt, I will try to come up with some suggestion, but take the other posters advice and try the website what am I entitled to, and make the appointment with the CAB, they have a wealth of knowledge and I do hope that the CCCS can come up with a repayment plan for you.
