I got some nasty charges recently. Since when did banks start charging an amount per each day you are overdrawn!?!? I thought it used to be a flat fee each time a thing came through and you couldnt pay it?
Anyhow thanks for any advice

Since a lot of banks updated there Terms and conditions to do this, you were probably sent updated terms and conditions and didn't read the changes that they were introducing.
A number of them only do it for so many days a month.. We would need to know who you bank with currently so that a comparison can be made.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

May be you should ask a different question - - like: how do I avoid going overdrawn? Try the Debtfree Wannabe board, they have some great ideas.0 -
If you can get a RBS or NatWest Select account they can add 'Overdraft Control' to the account for no fee - it will reject payments you don't have the funds for without charge.
Other banks such as LloydsTSB and Bank of Scotland also offer this facility for £10 per month. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
