    - the averaging over 12 months is the deal for both consumer & supplier
    - do you really think suppliers will allow switching in and out of the averaging model ?
    - essentially a non E7 core price summer contract, and an E7 winter re-contract
    - this would reduce their profits, and increase their costs they'd notice and stop the practice
    - free meter changes from the few that do it free would disappear, or ;
    - penalty charges would increase for the leaving / re-contract / meter change etc to pay for the practice

    I would hope that 100% of all of the costs to the supplier are levied / targeted against those individual households that carry out this practice, and not sprayed across all E7 customers who would be made to absorb the cost.
    Sounds an awful lot like you are advocating against the consumer finding the cheapest option!

    This is not something I expect to see on a site called 'Money Saving Expert'.

    Gee, I hope that the energy company bosses don't lose out on an extra glass of champagne so that I can afford to keep my family warm.

    I'm properly advocating that companies supplying my electricity appropriate cost of supply. If an individual or many individuals, or millions of individuals create an artificial tariff as you suggest I hope the electricity companies levy any costs on the artificial tariff [ers] and do not spread those metering costs on the rest of us.

    Its not their glass of champagne .. .. its me paying your personal artificial tariff costs I object to. If there is a unit cost to the method you propose you should pay it, not I. You should not be allowed to 'find a cheaper option' advantage at the cost of other bill payers.
