Lloyds Tsb customer applying for Halifax Reward A/C

hi, just a quick query, me and my partner are currently Lloyds TSB current account customers and have been for about 2 years. We are currently in a DMP with stepchange and have been for nearly 4 years. We have considered switching to a Halifax Reward account and were just wondering what the chances of being accepted are? with them being part of the lloyds banking group as i understand, would they take this into consideration? Or would they base it solely on our credit score like any normal application? Dont want to hurt our file even more applying and being declined. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you have a black mark with TSB, I wouldn't risk an application with Halifax or BoS.

Though they are part of the same banking group they operate independently and have separate account offerings.

They will run a credit check as you are opening a new account with a new financial institution despite them being part of the same group.

They may also take your account conduct with Lloyds TSB into consideration as part of there assessment. It could be worth a try to see if they will open the reward account.
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

thanks for the reply, we have ran our account really well with lloyds for the 2 years we have been banking with them so hopefully if they can see this they may consider it. we had no problems opening the lloyds account in 2011 and we had been in our DMP for nearly 2 years back then so hopefully should get the reward account. i shall give it a go.
