G Drive Sync

in Techie Stuff
I have G Drive set up and sync'd on 2 laptops at home and my phone and store about 20 docs and 50 pics. Just had a techie put it on my work laptop and he had a right faff with folders etc but appeared to complete it in the end and went off saying its all set up.
However when I look although it all appears to be set up correctly the drive is empty. My phone is also empty as it the cloud storage when I access the internet. I assume that he has somehow set the sync up to sync out the empty folder and so wipe all data from the ones set up already.
Now as my 2 home laptops are switched off I presume that the document folders in them will still have the docs but as soon as I switch them on they will sync to be empty.
Any thoughts on how I can reverse this before it happens.

g: drive where, sync with what software
sync can only happen if both devices are on, so switch one off and/or use safe mode and copy the data somewhere else.
syncing is always risky!!

Sorry should have explained better - Google Drive
Thanks for advice, I had just found a few moments to think this through and come to same conclusion myself, switch on laptop with wireless disabled then copy out files to different folder before adding them back, enabling wireless and re-sync.0
