Cheapest paint/fabric paint?

Hi, I'm doing painting activities with 100 children at cub camp next week.
Does anyone know the cheapest place to get supplies of ready made paint and fabric paint (or pens).

Wasn't sure where to put this but thought the families section might have lots of kiddies' paint buyers!

Thankyou, purple :A

Not sure that they are cheap, but have you tried Baker Ross? They have loads of art/craft stuff.

  • Thanks for those links :T

Threadhead I love that website, it's got so many ideas and projects.
I think it is too expensive for the quantities I'll need but will look again for future/ home use. :D

Pennywatcher, yes I think I must be mad, instead of a child-free weekend I'll have 100!!

I'm off to look at those pens and figure out how many I'll need,
-there's bound to be the odd 50 kids that'll squeeze the whole tube! :rotfl:

    Thankyou :A

What are you making? Apart from mess that is! :D My class has just finished 'painting' patterns onto plain cotton fabric using felt pens. Not suitable for washing though!

Fabric Medium is ace because you can just add it to normal paint and it becomes fabric paint... much cheaper than buying normal fabric paint and you can really stretch it out. Looks dear from this site, but see if you can get it from somewhere else.

The Early Learning centre does cheap poster paint (£1 a bottle)

    Have fun!:D
  • Andy, we're making bandanas with the fabric paint.
Felt pens are a great idea for items that won't need washed
-I'll keep that in mind and maybe make flags next time, much cheaper! :D

purplepurple (love the name :D ), fabric medium - fantastic!
I'm going to look into that and check out prices.
I'd like to have that for playing with at home too so thankyou :T

I have just bought some fabric pens off ebay 3.99 for 6 pens and used them yesterday for my sons party.activity went down very well i used pens rather than the paint as less mess, but you do need to iron over the top of it to set the colour so you are able to wash it.
