    Zoostorm Pink Laptop

    - Intel Core i5-3230M 2.6GHz
    - 16GB RAM + 1TB HDD
    - 15.6" HD LED

Please note that this laptop PC does not come with an operating system. Ebuyer recommends using genuine Microsoft Software and is Windows 8 compatible.

Guessing you two above posters crossed, but just in case not ;D

Should've sent that to my mum, shame, she's just gone for a dell business model.

A few important specs missing from eBuyer's description:

    Screen Resolution: 1366x768
    Hard drive RPM: 5400

A bit crap really, but for that price is to be expected. 1366x768 is the absolute bare minimum for Windows 8.

Depends on whether you count 720p as HD, if so then this is (slightly) higher resolution than HD.

It certainly isn't full HD though.

A bit different in spec though.

    RAM: 4GB vs 16GB (Upgrade cost: £70ish)
CPU: 15-3210M 2.5GHz vs i5-3230M 2.6GHz (Very difficult to upgrade)
    Disc: 500GB vs 1000GB (Upgrade cost: £50ish)
    OS: Windows 8 vs None

An OEM version of Windows 7 or 8 for the Zoostorm will set you back around £70, but this is irrelevant if you happen to have a spare Windows licence or intend on running a different OS such as Linux.

Note that the links are to the cheapest Google shopping results for the parts needed, and are not a supplier recommendation. They also assume you will be doing the upgrade yourself.

Top class. About time someone had the balls to sell a PC/Laptop without an OS installed.
It wasn't that long ago that Dell refused to sell OS-free hardware because 'Microsoft have declared it against their policy to supply Windows media to companies who promote piracy by shipping hardware free of OS'.

That sort of spec. will run Windows 7 without any issues at all. And according to PCPro, W7 is STILL the most requested OS when buying new laptops. One manufacturer reckons 93% of laptop & PC hardware they ship still goes with Win 7 on as this is what the customer requests when 'speccing their order', another ships close to 80% of their kit with Win 7 on & yet another ships all their Win 8 stuff with a 3rd-party app pre-installed that puts the start button back where it should be.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

Dell do actually sell a few machines without Windows. Usually sold as a "developer edition" with Ubuntu preloaded.

Last time I looked at one, they were more expensive than the nearest equivalent with Windows 8. Good job Dell.

I think it would be best to keep the Windows 7 vs 8 argument out of this thread. It's been done to death here and nobody is going to change their mind!
