Gas meter installation and supplier

Hello,

I am currently in the process of getting gas connected to my mid-terrace house, South Dorset. I have been advised that i can pick the supplier to install the meter.

I have no idea how much I'll use. I have never had gas before and live on my own. It will be used cooking and central heating. The only websites I can find are for switching gas supplier and aren't much help.

Does anyone have any advice on choice of installer supplier?

I'm assuming the meter installation and supplier have to be the same.

Therer is no no best or cheapest, it depends on consumption and region. You can still use any comp site, just enter any tariff you like as your current one, and use average kWh figures. (16,500kWh for gas ad 3,400 for electrcity.
No, the metering company does not have to be the same as the supplier, if it was you would need a meter change every time you switched supplier.

The installer will be your local gas network or idependant gas transporter in your area. Once the supply pipe is in you can get a supplier with a meter
