Is it written in Visual Basic 6 (or earlier) or Visual Basic.net?

If it's VB.net then you could compile it under Mono to produce a Mac-native version. It may need some tweaking but since you wrote this originally you should be able to handle that, right?

Bonus points: Doing it this way keeps Java off your system.

I thought Mono was C# not VB?

Mono reads CIL (common intermediate language) which is what both c# and vb.net (plus a few others) compile into

Just a thought. Would it be possible to create something in Apple Automator to do what you want instead of converting your VB?

It all depends on what the VB actually does of course.

Well you have a few options. You could look at something like Xamarin but you would need to convert your VB to C# but once done you can target both platforms.

If you are more comfortable using and staying with BASIC then there is RealBasic which has been around quite a few years now and is cross platform.

Or you could look at Runrev livecode which has just been open sourced and is also cross platform.

(sorry I cant post links so you will have to google em!)

Personally I find livecode abit quirky, its powerful but its aimed at non-programmers so the syntax and structure doesn't feel familiar but then I havent spent alot of time using it.
