finding a Financial Advisor

Hi
I wonder if you can help, my father is trying to locate a finanical advisor he used previously but doesnt know where to look. I've googled it but didnt have much joy either, does anyone know how I could go about finding this person? I have a name and an area he used to work a couple of years ago but no company name
I wondered if there is a list I can search anywhere? Or could anyone here know of a way of finding someone
Many thanks in advance

www.unbiased.co.uk is the UK database for IFAs.

www.fsa.gov.uk/register is the FSA's register of advisers (tied, multi-tied or IFA). It shows current authorised individuals as well as those that are no longer authorised (since around 2001ish).
I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.
