Economy 7 prices
Options
Hi,
I've now been in this house for over a year, so I actually have a decent idea of how much energy we use. Because initially I didn't know (never had E7 before), I just went with the Co-Op paying a £63 a year standing charge, then 13p daytime, 6.95p night. I have been told by people that these prices are poor; but when I put my usage into moneysupermarket the cheapest tariff would cost an extra £700 a year. Am I looking in the wrong place, or is Co-Op really that good?
Usage:
19000kWh/yr
60% night-time usage (annual average, hoping to increase this further)
I calculate this at £1,800 a year; but moneysupermarket gets £1025. Am I doing something wrong?
If I put in my usage as £1,800; the cheapest tariff is £1,300 more expensive.
What's going on?

I think you must be doing something basically wrong.
I have put your details with my post code into energy helpline (did not want to put my email into moneysupermarket).
I do not know yourpresent tariff so chose Pioneer before Feb 2013.
The results show current spend at £1846 and a potential saving of £89 with npower.0 -
I think moneysupermarket has something wrong... Just tried Uswitch myself, and it calculates it much better, giving a £59 saving. I did notice that Uswitch listed out of date prices for my tariff; perhaps moneysupermarket has even more out of date info?
EDIT: Confirmed, they use 12.57p per kWh as my price plan, even though I select E7...Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0
