I am considering buying this shower - its on special offer in Argos £56.99.
Does anyone have this, and would you recommend it. The WHICH best buys are Triton and Mira but models in excess of £200. Don't need anything fancy just a good shower!

I recently bought this shower and am getting it plummed tomorrow.... I'll report back once its up and running.
However, I've not 'owned' a shower since being a child so I'm afraid I will have nothing to compare it to... Can't find any internet reviews either *shrugs*0 -
We got the 8.5k version of this for £50 from Argos a few weeks ago, and I'm really pleased with it. Our old shower decided to die on us at the worst time (financially), and I thought we'd have to pay over £200 to get a new one.
It works well, and I'm able to control the temperature properly now (on the old one it wasn't very sensitive when trying to turn the temp. up or down.)
I would recommend it. I have no real experience of expensive showers though, so I don't know how this would compare to a £300 one, but I really like it.0 -
got two triton showers here, had one before that lasted 15 years
no problem at all
they used to make spares for 10 years after the model stops selling , not sure if that still appliesEx forum ambassador

Thanks. My old triton of 10 years went up in a puff of smoke. But is was the top of the range model in Which cost around £150 back then. I'm just a bit worried about buying a cheaper model - but not sure if its worth paying the extra for the top of the range models?0 -
think I paid £70 for one and then £100 for the 2nd (mainly as it had to go on the existing fittings)Ex forum ambassador

I had a gainsborough one for about 3 or 4 years before it decided to melt. I think the plumber who installed it for us was a bit incompetent and was not as tidy with the wiring as he should have been. I went out and bought a triton for about sixty or seventy quid and installed it myself. It has worked perfectly ever since and that is abut 5 or 6 years now.0

Got it plummed and just tried it out - I love it!!
It's also nice to read they have some staying power.... I expect most electrical items to only have an 3 or so year shelf life these days... Nice one :-)0 -
Our Triton shower has been going well for over 10 years! :j0

Were on our second in the space of a year, worked fine when we got it but now the temp goes roasting and freezing, argos won't let me replace it again said i have to get in touch with triton.
I wouldn't buy another one again, you get what you pay for and in my experience its been a nightmare, i have to save up now and buy a decent one.Baby number 2 due April 2010, were having a girl!!! :j0
