I have the very same issue, don't get me wrong, it's not the 50p I have a problem with!

In this situation (providing proof of support) (Loan = post 1998 pre2012) when the 'supporters' do not wish to provide written, signed evidence to the Student Loan Company? Is the £150 fine still handed out? It's illegal to pin somebody down and use brute force to get them to sign a document that has nothing to do with them. Its probably more illegal to forge the document yourself! What am I going to do?

I can see that they are worried about people working cash in hand and not paying back their student loan. But why is it not treated in the same manner as income tax?

To be honest, if they keep on threatening fines and being as rude and uncaring as they have been, I may have to take it to the Ombudsman.

Has anybody else had this problem as an unemployed graduate?
