Paid lump sum to debt company ,now they want more?

Hi
this is first time I've been on here so hope I'm doing this right:(
Can anyone advise me what to do .i owed £800 to a catalogue
I could not pay so it went to a debt recovery company .i made a final
Settlement with them and paid £400 .they said they would send me a reciept they never did .now a year later I recieved a letter from a different credit company saying I havevto pay the other £400 .what do I do?

Just came across your post and noticed there are no replies yet. It might be because it is in the wrong part of the forum. If you post it on the Debt Free Wannabe board you might find someone who'll know the answer.
