Note the other sellers listed (Amazon style).
Will they open it up to all and sundry?
Does anyone use tescodirect anyway?

It started 12 months ago, the idea (I think) was medium to large business sellers with good inventory.
As you say it's more a mirror of Amazon. Unlike Amazon they don't seem to be too keen to have competitors with their own sales.
Sears seem to have done relatively well with a marketplace in the US..0 -

Can't see Amazon being too worried, same thing seems to be half the cost there?

I doubt it. The idea of the marketplace is to offer more products to keep customers online. Supermarkets struggle with online, so they've been experimenting with various things.Brooker_Dave wrote: »

As for auctions, they aren't as profitable as they may appear. Although its Ebay's core it isn't where the money is for them..0 -

Tesco is the no 1 retailer on TopCashback. So presumably, 'yes'.0 -

Our wholesale business was approached by Tesco about a year ago. They made Ebay look competent. I dont know if they have improved so it would be interesting to read from anyone who sells there.0

Play.com has gone the same way. I quite like buying from Play. I haven't actually come across a bad seller on there yet.0

Bizarrely the only bad experience I have had with Play is many moons ago when they had their systems hacked.....I'm sure the market sellers are good, but I do find searching tedious.0 -
Play.com oh dear... I always bought my memory cards from them.
Last year i wanted some more but unluckily got there too late. They had swapped over the system.
After trawling through 742 identical sales from one seller that didnt actually have what i searched for i gave up.
I emailed them and got no reply.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
