Double royal mail complaint

Hi all. Ive got the usual complaint that crops up. Was sat in my living room postman comes and leaves like every day. A few minutes later i go check what hes delivered. I then see the sorry we missed you card!! At no time did he knock

The item was ordered saturday and 'attempted' delivery today (monday). This is my 2nd complaint - i now cant pick the item up for 48 hours - thats longer than the time it took from order to original 'delivery'

don't know what system your posty works under, but choose what, its quicker to deliver than write a card out, then he/she doesn't have to carry it about for ages, it makes sense to get rid doesn't it?
only yesterday i tried to deliver a parcel, i could hear tv/radio on, but no answer, we can't wait about too long with the tight deadlines, then today i get abuse for not knocking!
sorry but we do knock on the doors, we are not paid to go knocking on living room windows,
but most offices should have it ready the next morning, you must be still under the old system.
  • unless he wrote the card out in less than 2 seconds then he had already written it out. I can hear him open and close the letterbox so I'm pretty sure I would have heard him knock

  • At least you got a card :p I had 2 parcels in the space of 4 weeks that were 'missing'. They were at the sorting office but i had NOT had a red card. The first time i dismissed it but twice in a short space of time is ridiculous :(

I was at home one day when the postman delivered to my street. Soon as the mail dropped through the door, I got up and saw the 'You were not at home' card.

Thought it weird that he hadn't knocked or pressed the doorbell so I opened the door as he passed from delivering to upstairs. Showed him the card and waited for him to produce the parcel.

Turns out they don't always carry them. So I'm assuming when they leave to make deliveries, they leave the parcel at the depot, fill out the card with the details and drop it through the door with your letters.

I assume this is due to "majority" of people not being home when they try to deliver so they save themselves the bother of carrying it all day.

A reduced service for the same cost.
