hi I am looking for some suggestions/advice on a holiday for myself and my LO who is 5. We are looking at somewhere sunny end july begining of August for 7-10 days for a budget of £1000. ( Yes bit of a holy grail this request)I am quite open but would like somewhere that can give me the option of a kids club or scheduled activities at least part of the time so i can have some me time. i wouldn't mind staying in the UK but the summers have been rubbish!
any thoughts, advice, warnings?

Have you thought about Majorca, you can get a week for your budget All inclusive.
Have a look on Jet2 holidays, they have some options in your budget.0 -
or try sourcing it DIY (it might work out cheaper as you are a one-adult and one-child group, over booking a package).
skyscanner first, for flights on your preferred dates from your preferred airport/airports.
then travelrepublic, expedia, alpharooms, hotels.com etc etc for accommodation.
once you have those sorted out, you can also google for transfers to and from the airport and your hotel.0 -
Most places will be hot at that time of year so you're probably guaranteed the sunshine. As others have said Majorca is a good choice, particularly Cala D'or, Calas de Mallorca, Sa Coma and Alcudia as these are very family friendly. I would probably avoid Magaluf and El Arenal as these are very busy lively resorts in high season. (El Arenal not with the brits but its a bit of a dutch / german/ scandic 18-30 place).
Other good options would include the Costa Brava resorts such as Tossa de Mar or Calella, as well as the Costa Dorada resorts of La Pineda or Cambrils. Salou is also good but quite lively too although its very family friendly and has a great themepark and waterpark for the little one.
Menorca is great for little ones too, as are certain areas of Ibiza.
If you'd like to send me a PM with more details such as dates, airports, which kind of resort etc I could take a look for you?I am a Travel Agent

My knowledge is probably out of date as I remember going on a family holiday years ago when I was 20. However we stayed in Palma and it seemed really nice. I remember nice shops and bars, lovely beach, a really big crazy golf, dinner shows, etc. We went on an excursion to a lovely port, a market and a scenic railway up a mountain with stunning views. It seemed a great place for an easy family holiday.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
