I know, I know. Another thread about UKCPS and I should just read the other messages - but...
The driver of a car registered to me parked in a disabled parking bay to unload the family and cases into a hotel in a shopping centre in Cardiff. I (RK of vehicle) received a letter stating that because i ignored the fine on the car - driver didn't see a fine on the windscreen - I was being fined £100. I received a letter today threatening court proceedings if I didn't pay up. What do I do - carry on ignoring their correspondence or reply?

To the driver - NEVER stop in a disabled bay (private or real) unless you have a medical reason and need to use it! Even if it's empty/late at night it's not there for you.
But re UKCPS I would just reiterate this advice given earlier:

Am I right in thinking you have a 'Notice to Keeper'? Here are the hoops they have to jump through, did they jump high enough?:

Also check out the BPA Code of Practice and compare it to their signs, notices, wording and timings of letters, the amount of the charge; scrutinise all of it.
If you want to try the appeal option (England and Wales only) then take it to POPLA as well with help to word that part of the appeal - it's not just a normal soft appeal that's needed.
If you want to ignore it then just ignore it and if ever you actually get small claim papers then come back to discuss a defence - it's very rare and UKCPS are nothing to be scared of at all. Check out the posts about them and their caravan 'HQ' round the back of a pub in Holbeck...PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks for your reply.
I should have mentioned that the driver parked in the disabled bay after a long journey through the snow, in a full car park, with the permission of the hotel - and promptly moved the vehicle after unloading the car.
What can be done about "companies" like UKCPS? What pressure can be put on them?0 -
Unfortunately you should not have ignored this not least because you had a cast iron case to bash them with at POPLA as you had been given permission to park. If as seems likely you are outside the time limit for appeals then you will just have to keep on ignoring & hope that they & their debt collectors eventually give up.0

Have started a new thread - awaiting a reply.
Is this a genuine claim form?
Have ukcps ever won a case they brought to court?0 -
Who cares? They are a tin pot company who trade behind a pub:

...and you can get a defence from pepipoo. It's a real claim form if it's got a seal and is from the Court - if in doubt ring and ask (the Court not the scumbags in the caravan behind the pub!).
