Tidying defaults on my credit report

Hi Everyone :j
Has anybody had any dealings with Cabot Financial, post bankruptcy?
I've been following the clean credit sticky post and I must say most of my creditors have been updating promptly. I now just have 4 creditors to tidy up.
Cabot Financial just aren't responding to letters. I've raised a validity of information query with Equifax and after doing this, Cabot simply seemed to move my default from my old address (i moved 7 months ago) to my new address, whereas all the other companies have left my defaults at the old address and simply settled or partially settled the accounts.
It's as though they don't want to clear the default, playing silly beggars and just want to move the default with me. My next line of attack with them will be ICO if they don't respond within 28 days.
I was curious to know whether anyone else had problems with Cabot and if so, how did they get on.
I'd also be interested to hear if anyone has had success with First National Bank for store cards which used to be Lombard Tricity Finance before being changed to First National Tricity Finance (they now come under Santander) or Lowell Portfolio. Both First National and Lowell are playing games so please share your experience and any success you had.
Thanks.

May also be a good idea to state that you will be complaining to the FOS if they do not correct the information and/or issue a final response to you.
The ICO is fine to do as well, but a complaint to the FOS will cost CrapBot £500.
Could also be worth having a word with the FOS now.
See: http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm
As it says there, sometimes the FOS will agree to write on your behalf NOW setting out your complaint. You would still have to wait before making it a formal complain through the FOS, but a letter from the FOS at an early stage often gets awkward credits to shift their bums in gear.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Oh my I have just been and read that, to say I am confused is a total understatement, I am tired so I will look tomorrow, but as I do not want credit and I went BR in 2008 and have not had any I am of the mind do I really need to do this exercise?
I take it I am going to have to find my full file showing me all the people I owed money to, 7 I think in total, and also my discharge date the BR date is impressed on my brain so I won't be forgetting that in a hurry!

Rylynn even if you don't want credit you should clean up your credit file. Sometimes the debts still get sold on after bankruptcy and it is just easier all round to make sure everything is as it should be.

Hi RyLynn first step is to get your reports. Companies report to one of the CRAs rather than all three, that's why it's suggested that you get your credit files from all three of the CRAs to see what's held on there.
When you have them check:
- The default date is on or before your BR date.
- The current balance is marked as settled/satisfied in some way.
Then once you have received the reports and you find you are having any trouble start a thread and everyone on here will help you out.
They are £2 each for paper/online copies.

NB: You can't order a paper copy online, they would rather you pay £12 don’t do that just print off the application form, P.O. for £2 and post this recorded delivery.

I'm hoping Fermi may be able to answer this question...or maybe someone else can who may have experienced something similar?
I moved house about 7 months ago. All my previous creditors with the exception of CR*PBOT  have kept the defaults on my previous address even after my chase letters sent on credit file clean-up.
CR*PBOT  on the other hand, did nothing to tidy up my debt listing and instead moved the debt to show at my new address.
Does this make any difference and should I be asking them to move it back to the address where the debt was originated from?0 -
Only the default date and the status saying settled matter. Anything else is by the by.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
